Design and Specification
Use this section to select and then download or print the important Design and Specification – Ensure sections for each item in the Guide.
Quality control
This section if useful you are working on new house designs or major upgrade works to ensure that the houses can provide safety and health benefits to residents and that both running and maintenance costs are reduced. You can select the stage of the project that you are currently completing from sketch design through to final completion of works. The Quality Control section will then filter the relevant list of the health and safety items to be checked for you to download or print.
Maintenance
Maintenance is essential to ensure houses keep functioning and provide safety and health benefits to residents. The Maintenance tool allows you to select the frequency of maintenance (3, 6, 12 or 24 months) and required tradespeople (electrician, plumber etc) and create a safety and health prioritised maintenance schedule for houses.
Add or Edit an item in the Guide
The aim of this section is to use the experience of those using the Guide to edit, refine and expand the content. With your help it will slowly become more relevant to a broader range of environments around Australia, and in time, other parts of the world. This section allows you to select the parts of the Guide you think need changing, add or edit text as required, add files or images to support your changes and submit your changes for review.
Products and Processes
See examples of products, developed to improve the function of houses, that you can use in the design of your project or the ongoing maintenance of houses.
Export data
Export any of the detailed housing survey data found in the Guide. The data could be used in many ways: to reinforce a submission for specific safety and health focussed maintenance funds, briefing material for industrial designers / architects / landscape architects, background information for health services to understand the possible causes of locally prevalent infectious diseases and plan public health programs.
Local team checklist
If you are a housing manager with a local community work team able to undertake some housing or living environment maintenance work, this will provide a list of possible works for all sections and items in the Guide.
Health Database
